GREAT WORK OF GOD IN BULGARIA
2008/2009

THE YEAR 2008: was as we called it “locally” when our big faith was to reach the 10 of the biggest cities in Bulgaria and ask them to pray together as one on the 11th of May 2008. By the 10th of May we were aware of more than 82 regions (both villages and cities). On the 1st of May someone asked us: How many people are going to take part in GDOP from Bulgaria? With a lot of faith and hope we said about 10, 000. On the 11th of May, God raised more than 26, 000 people to pray as one in the whole of Bulgaria, which totally went beyond our wildest expectations.

THE YEAR 2009: This year on May 31st, instead of having many small gatherings, we would like to see a movement towards unity. We plan 12 larger events all over the country, where the surrounding smaller cities and villages will join in prayer for Bulgaria.

Organizing and preparing such a large event was a big struggle for many of us. As some of you know, we are just a team of young people and we pass through some very difficult times- physically, financially, and the list goes on... As we were looking for a place to have the event in Sofia, God opened the doors for the largest open-air square in Sofia. Last time when the square was rented for such an event, was in 1995 and since that time the church have not been out in public again. On the 31st  of May , we held a remarkable event in the History of the church in Bulgaria. After nearly 15 years, the Church of Bulgaria was once again in the center of Sofia praising and worshiping the name of Jesus.

YEAR 2010

As we are obedient to God and to His will, we are about to make the next step with faith.  To call Christians from across the whole nation for a time of prayer and repentance.

The Global Day of Prayer follows the three parts of the beginning of the Church: ten days of constant prayer leading to Pentecost, one day of prayer witnessed by the whole city and days of blessing that followed. For these reasons, the Global Day of Prayer has three parts:

THE 10 days of constant prayer in the book of Acts you will notice it was located in the upper room, but Peter's sermon was not... it was on the street...

Therefore after the churches spend 9 days of prayer in their church buildings, the 10 day will be together ending the 10 days of preceding prayer in the largest whole in Sofia. After we have a time of fervent prayer in the "upper room" we will go open air "on the street" Right in the heart of Sofia, Bulgaria is the national square “Aleksander Nevski”. Place known with it's religious meaning. where we will call the whole nation to join in time of prayer and repentance together with it's former President and the new prime minister.

Through the event God is giving us the unique chance through TV and radio to call one entire nation to repent and be exposed to the gospel of Jesus Christ.  Potentially millions following on the television and on the radio. We would like to see thousands upon thousands people coming to know the Lord Jesus Christ, but we want it God’s way. We see the call for repentance heard not only by the believers, but to the nation of Bulgaria. Therefore we plan to have TV, Radio and Internet adv. call to come to the event. Moreover we will call the people also by posters and invitation in their post boxes in 25 big cities.
